Photography
Hi, I’m Jana Machackova-Oey, a Czech-born photographer living and working in Finland. I hold a Master’s degree in Culture and Arts with a specialization in photographic art from Turku University of Applied Sciences.
Photography is both my profession and my way of understanding the world. I am interested in people, everyday life, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. My work is driven by empathy, observation, and a belief that photography can reveal beauty, meaning, and connection in ordinary situations.
Alongside my personal and artistic projects, I work with clients who are looking for photography that feels natural, human, and thoughtful. I enjoy collaborating with individuals, cultural organizations, and creative projects, adapting my approach to each situation and story.
My experience includes portrait photography, documentary and event photography, and commissioned creative work. I am particularly drawn to projects and themes related to identity, place, and everyday life.
I see photography as a dialogue — between myself and the subject, and between the image and the viewer. My aim is to create images that are not only visually strong but also emotionally resonant.
